Ideally, we would like for all of our young people to be in a full-time, mainstream education provision. However, we appreciate that this isn’t always possible, and that young people may have been out of formal education for some time and may have had negative experiences in education previously.
Many of our young people have had a negative experience with education in the past, with this in mind and in keeping with our bespoke approach, we can facilitate a wide range of educational experiences to meet the needs of children and young people whilst the placing authority is sourcing a longer-term solution.
We work with Blaenau Gwent’s EWO on a step-by-step plan towards achieving the best possible, and most appropriate, placement to meet the varied needs of our children and young people.
By working with partner agencies in providing an extensive off-site activity programme, we ensure that there is a structured timetable in place for each young person so that their time is spent on enriching activities and that they have a good routine in place prior to starting a more formal education placement.
